The CWA continues to provide good old-fashioned culinary advice to the next gen of home bakers with the handy tome Everything I Know About Cooking I Learned from the Country Women’s Association of NSW (Murdoch Books, $16.99). With more than just scones and marble cake on offer (don’t panic, they’re in there too), the recipes run the gamut from chilli nuts and prawn curry to Norwegian sour cream cake, but all inclusions have a calories-be-damned cosiness you’d expect from this venerable association.
