Stanton & Co.
With New York’s Meatpacking District as inspiration, PARLOUR GROUP are set to open Stanton & Co., a 300-seat bar and restaurant that will join the roster at THE CANNERY in the Sydney suburb of Rosebery from October. Chef Regan Porteous (pictured top, far right) will oversee a mod-Australian menu with Japanese influences.
Annam Restaurant Bar
PHO NOM chef Jerry Mai brings her unique take on the food of Vietnam to the heart of the city with the opening of Annam (a name for Vietnam used prior to 1945) on Little Bourke Street in Melbourne.The 100-seat eatery features an open kitchen with a charcoal grill to infiltrate the menu, which draws on her Vietnamese and Cambodian heritage. It’s expected to open by late August.
Lolo and Lola
Filipino food has been getting a bit of attention of late as a cuisine wor th watching, so the opening of Lolo and Lola in Watson, Canberra, is of note. Owners Kim Cudia, Jay Prieto and Cristina Uy have graduated from selling their ensaymadas – traditional sweet buns topped with butter cream and cheddar cheese – from a market stall to a shipping container and now to a fully fledged restaurant, with a rotating menu of share plates. loloandlola.com.au
