Although I agree with some of the sentiment of Joanna Blythman’s article ‘Home delivery? Don’t be so lazy!’ (Nov), I think she was a bit too strident in her assumption that those who order takeaway from gourmet restaurants always do so because they’re lazy. In October, I should have been celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary in Vienna, but instead I was waiting on knee surgery, quite incapacitated. So, for a week, it was all about takeaways, some from the best restaurants in Newry. It wasn’t Vienna, but at least the food was superb!

Thank you for the fantastic easy chocolate cake recipe (Oct). I made it (and the kids decorated it) for my husband’s 40th, and then made a triplelayer version for my daughter’s 5th birthday (decorated with fondant icing, Trolls style). Highlights include the incredibly fresh and varied sushi plate and the steak, which comes with a divine beurre noisette hollandaise.
