Graeme Creamer is the manager of Loch Bay, on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, heralded for its top service and contemporary Scottish dishes by chef Michael Smith.
‘To avoid waiting for your food, let us know if you need to make any changes to your reservation. One of the most frustrating things is when customers are late. We take bookings to moderate the flow of orders going to the kitchen, so you can imagine that a table arriving even 15 minutes late in a restaurant like ours with only seven tables can throw everything out of kilter. We understand situations may arise out of your control, but if you have the opportunity to call and let the restaurant know you are running late, it may give the team just enough of a heads-up to plan around the change accordingly, so you can have the best experience.
And on that note, if something happens that means you are unable to make your reservation, it is imperative that you let the restaurant know. A restaurant may be able to fill a reservation cancelled at even the shortest notice, but if the table sits empty while we unwittingly wait for you, the business is ultimately going to lose out.’ lochbay-restaurant.co.uk
