HOW TO EAT MORE SUSTAINABLY
In our new series, we focus on eco-friendly living and eating
OUR PROMISE
We all need to eat, but our food choices shouldn’t literally cost the earth. The production, packaging, cooking and waste management of food has a huge environmental impact.
In the last year, an overwhelming amount of information about the impact our food choices have on the planet has started to flood out via news outlets, websites, commercial channels and social media. We want to cut through the noise and bring clarity to the issues that directly relate to what and how you eat and drink, so that you can understand them more easily and make your own informed choices. We are committed to being transparent and finding realistic solutions to these issues, as we face the same ones ourselves at BBC Good Food in our test kitchen, at our photo shoots and in the way we publish content.
In this new series, we’ll explore real-life solutions for us and you, and will be honest about what we can do and when. We’ll try to be holistic in our approach to cutting waste and our carbon footprint, but we know there are many different ways to make an impact, not all of which will suit us or you. We’ll share these ideas with you here every month, online at bbcgoodfood.com and via our social media channels.
This is a complex problem, and we won’t pretend to have all the answers. But we would like you, our readers, to come on this journey with us and give us feedback either on how you think we’re doing, or how you think we could do better. Contact us at goodfoodmagazine@ immediate.co.uk.
