Double awards win for BBC Good Food
We’ve been awarded top honours by two leading industry bodies!
One of the food world’s most respected bodies, the Guild of Food Writers, has named BBC Good Food the Magazine of the Year, 2020, while the Professional Publishers Association Awards, established in the print industry for over a century, has named it the Special Interest Magazine Brand of the Year. The awards were each presented in June at online ceremonies.
Guild judges said that Good Food ‘appeals to all levels of expertise, and it is particularly impressive that the magazine, now in its 31st year, continues to be fresh and innovative.’
The magazine ‘pulls you in with wonderful design and photography’, and provides ‘a really good read from beginner to experienced cook.’ Judges commented on the useful index, nutritional information, seasonal and budget-focused recipes.
Another said, ‘It’s a publication that’s impossible to put in the recycling bin!’ High praise indeed. The judges also liked the way the magazine ‘interacts well with its readers and keeps up to date with dietary needs and food trends’.
At the PPA Awards, the gold award was presented, with the panel calling it, ‘An absolute knockout win for BBC Good Food. Judges were unanimously impressed by the overall success of this magazine brand. This is a fantastic story of a powerhouse brand that has been ahead of the market for many years and continues to be so.’
