Slovenia is rich in rural beauty and has a wonderful cuisine, inluenced by its diverse landscapes. This six-day tour will show you the mesmerising scenery and the delicious lavours of the country’s dierent regions.
You’ll see Slovenia’s exceptional views with a trip into the country’s verdant hills to learn about local herb and tea culture. Other landmarks on the trip include the famous Lake Bled, the majestic Triglav National Park where you’ll walk the Tolmin Gorges, and the Vipava Valley, where you’ll taste some local wines.
Highlights
Serene Lake Bled Nestled in the Julian Alps, the lake has a backdrop of snowcapped peaks, and in the middle of the water is a tiny island home to an historic church.
Tru le-hunting expedition Istria is renowned for its black and white trules, and you’ll get a chance to hunt for some before tucking into traditional Slovenian dishes made with trules.
Lovely Ljubljana Considered one of Europe’s top new culinary destinations,
the city will give you the opportunity to treat yourself to dinner at the Michelinstarred Strelec restaurant.
Wine-tasting You’ll spend an afternoon in the Vipava Valley, and sip on wines as the sun sets.
The Skocjan caves A UNESCO World Heritage Site made up of underground passages and waterfalls and one of the world’s largest underground canyons.
Slovenia’s craft beer capital The medieval town of Kamnik is a real haven for microbreweries, and you’ll get to tour one and taste some of these brews to see what makes them so special.
