DESIGNOPHILES took time out for a leisurely lunch when Belle and e&s hosted a chic celebration on a sunny Melbourne day at new AU79 in Abbotsford. The former car garage has been given a total overhaul and new lease on life by the Mim Design team. Even the workshop’s old tyre marks have been clad in brass for its new incarnation. Principal of Mim Design, Miriam Fanning, was one of the special guest speakers in conversation with Matt Gibson of Matt Gibson A+D and Rob Sinclair, owner of e&s. Back in Sydney, Designer Rugs launched ‘Yulparitja’, its latest hand-knotted rug collection featuring five Indigenous artists from the Bidyadanga community. The stunning large-scale rugs adorned the walls at Mossgreen in Woollahra. Fanuli, purveyor of fine furniture and the exclusive distributor of Flexform in Australia, hosted a series of talks on hot trends and pieces from Milan, including one in their Melbourne showroom featuring guest speakers Fiona Lynch and Travis Walton.
