LILAC LINK Chalky white walls, limewashed elements and a dusting of powdery pastels elevates this kitchen.
DESIGNERS KIRSTEN STANISICH & JONATHAN RICHARDS “A boutique residential development of 30 apartments in Sydney’s Potts Point, IDA incorporates a unique 1970s heritage building. We selected granite, stone that was used prolifically in that era, and created a glassy honed finish so the material can be viewed in a contemporary way. The detailing is simple and the horizontal banding through the taller elements is reflective of the shutter-style panelling often seen in 70s joinery. We worked with a limited colour palette and explored the use of different textures to express each element. Our favourite item in the kitchen is the lilac-stained Spectralux ribbed veneer for its three-dimensional qualities and because it brings out the granite’s lilac veining.”
