I am pretty faithful to my denim, and my growing collection of flannel shirts. FAVOURITE WATCH? Don’t wear a watch. FRAGRANCE OF CHOICE? I’m pretty open to lots of fragrances but I always come back to something with sandalwood [2]. BOOKS – WHAT ARE YOU READING NOW – BOTH FICTION AND ART/DESIGN? The life of Miki Dora, which is an eclectic mix of fact and fiction, and a Brett Whiteley biography. Brett was a real inspiration for the design of our new Sydney store. MUSIC – WHAT’S ON ROTATION AT OFFICE AND HOME? Right now we are listening to Nils Lofgren singing Neil Young [3]. FAVOURITE FLOWERS? Banksia integrifolia from my garden. BEST DOWNTIME (IF YOU EVER HAVE ANY) PURSUIT? Walking down the beach with my dog and my two boys, followed by a bit of gardening. DO YOU PREFER COFFEE OR TEA – FAVOURITE BLENDS? I am dedicated to both. I start the day with an Earl Grey tea, followed by a strong latte, then another tea, and then one more coffee and a tea later in the arvo. ENTERTAINING – AT HOME – AND RESTAURANT OF CHOICE? It’s definitely a dinner party with friends and my wife’s fantastic home cooking. PREFERRED TIPPLE? Asahi beer [4]. FILMS THAT HAVE INSPIRED YOU? The Nick Cave documentary, 20,000 Days on Earth [5], and all Wes Anderson films. SHOPS AND ONLINE STORES YOU FREQUENT? Incu and Saturdays NYC [6]. MAGAZINES YOU READ REGULARLY? Fair [7]. DOES YOUR LOVE OF FASHION AND DESIGN EXTEND TO CARS? Yes and I am looking forward to those driverless cars [8]. TRAVEL – FAVOURITE REGULAR HAUNT AND WHERE IS ON YOUR MUST-SEE LIST? Paris for work and South-west France for holidays with my family. Sumatra, Indonesia for surf trips. My must-see is making the time to see more of Japan. I’m working on a new home office for me, and a new collection of luxe armchairs and leather sofas.
