The MATRIX
Defy gravity and take a leap into the dark unknown where black on black rules.
‘Un nished Business’ is a grand reckoning with feminism at a moment when the movement seems both culturally ascendant yet more urgent and politically dangerous than ever, grappling with ongoing discourses around gender discrimination, women’s representation in media, reproductive rights, violence against women and intersectional identities. Foregrounding subjective female experience and elevating practices once relegated to domestic craft to the realm of art object, Elizabeth Pulie’s practice (left) operates in conversation with earlier waves of feminism as well as contemporaries such as Alex Martinis Roe and Fiona Foley whose work also comprises the show.
