Introducing THE FINALISTS

» Our judges, including Italian design icon Alberto Alessi and leading Australian product designers Abi Alice, Adam Goodrum and Adam Cornish, have chosen the finalists. The winners will be announced in the May issue of Belle – on sale April 16.

Overseen by Mami Kataoka, the 21st Biennale of Sydney assembles work by 70 artists from six continents to examine the here and now of world art. The Art Gallery of NSW has drawn on four decades of association with the biennale, showing Australian luminaries alongside work from international artists such as Francisco Camacho Herrera from Colombia (right) and Finnish practitioner Eija-liisa Ahtila (below), while the MCA is showing 18 artists, including Hsu Chia-wei from Taiwan (above). The 4A Centre, Sydney Opera House, Cockatoo Island, Carriageworks and Artspace round out the venues for the city-wide program, now in its 45th year. March 16-June 11.
