“The convergence of form and function is seamless in this practical, balanced family home that is simultaneously striking and unique. We endeavoured to create a space more like a piece of sculpture. With the use of designer and integrated Fisher & Paykel appliances we were able to disguise the general function and achieve a seamless aesthetic. We’re always challenged with our clients’ practical needs versus design aesthetic so in order to execute the black base cabinetry to perfection we selected the 900mm Fisher & Paykel oven. It was big enough for the family, while the brushed stainless steel and black glass made it work perfectly in the space. The Rich Brilliant Willing pendant over the island is also a favourite; from a distance it’s so simple but the closer you get the more you can appreciate its beauty. It also produces a subtle glow when on that creates lovely ambient lighting in the room.” What luxury item did you choose for this space regardless of budget? “The island fabrication out of marble – with rounded corners!”
