Mark photographed architect Enrico Taglietti, p52. What was your impression of his work? When I met Enrico I was surprised by his interest in my practice and my life. Then I began to understand the importance of conversation to his architecture and the connection to people, place and landscape. Who/what have been some enduring creative influences? When I started studying I was inspired by Grant Mudford, Richard Avedon and George Hurrell, and their influence continues today. Where is home for you, and what do you love about it? I was raised in Canberra and still live and work there – it’s great for a family and to focus on work. What are some favourite local haunts? I love D’browes for a meal. For gifts I can’t go past the National Portrait Gallery shop. What would be your ultimate travel escape in 2019/20? Hoping to go to Asia and Europe to create new work. What design item are you coveting right now? New Duckfeet shoes. What is on your reading/viewing list? I’m watching Travel Man with Richard Ayoade. I also enjoy Haruki Murakami’s books. What is inspiring you right now? Seeing my daughter grow up has let me see the world in a new way.
