THIS MODERNIST RESIDENCE was originally built in 1963 by Michael Feldhagen and later renovated by Peter Corrigan in the 90s, but it wasn’t until David Flack took on its latest reincarnation that the interiors aligned with the needs of a modern family. “It was important for us to create a family home that was sophisticated, while honouring the architecture and the past architects. Our focus was to ensure a consistent language while maintaining its artistic roots,” says David. “The previous renovation in the 90s only concentrated on the bathrooms and kitchen, and the house felt extremely chaotic as these rooms were themed. It was clear that entertaining was a regular occurrence, so alongside doubling the space we created a scullery and four entrances to allow easy function for service and catering.” ackstudio.com.au
