To November Many describe it as their happy place, no matter how big or small, we are all drawn to the magic of our outdoors!

Better Homes and Gardens (Australia) - - Editor's Letter -

no news to any of us that living, entertaining, relaxing or just hanging in our outdoor spaces has become as common as partaking of those totally pleasurable pastimes indoors. We’ve all been building, landscaping, decorating and styling for years to make our outside places be as vital as indoors and to connect as much as possible to inside so the flow between the two is seamless and satisfying.

And don’t we just all have a love affair with our courtyards, patios, decks, pergolas and balconies because of the fresh-air joy they give us.

Well, here at BHG we are ever so aware of how all of us head straight outdoors whenever we can. Thus this issue – like our November issue each year – is loaded with ideas, inspiration and information for you to hand-pick what best suits your alfresco paradiso to update, rework or renovate it a little or a lot to make it even better for the summer months ahead. And of course for all your Christmas celebrations.

And once you’ve selected your improvement – big or small – here’s what we want you to do: think of us with a whopping smile when you sit and sip and chat and chill in your fresh new spot.

When you’ve done with your time outdoors during the day, here’s another very good suggestion, head in and whip yourself up a one-wok winner for dinner, see page 90. Yum! Like we said on the cover, get stir crazy and while you’re munching on those fine flavours, look through the rest of this pretty lovely mag created especially for your reading pleasure and as ever, enjoy!

Add a colourful spark to your next outdoor gathering. Hook up this crochet wallhanging using pretty summery yarn and hang it for all to admire. PS, bring it inside when the party’s over! TURN TO PAGE 206 Subscribe now for big savings and more. See page 214 or call 1300 301 567
