Outdoor fabric; matching thread; sewing machine; general sewing supplies

Here’s how STEP 1

Cut fabric to size: desired width of runner plus length of table with an extra 20cm drop for each side. Add 12cm to width and length for hems.

STEP 2

Referring to How to make perfect corners (on previous pages), turn over 3cm of each side of rectangle to wrong side of fabric and press. Fold over another 3cm and press again. Unfold and trim corners. Fold over corners to first crease and then fold over sides twice. Press and pin the corners. Then, with stitch length on sewing machine set to 3.5, topstitch all sides 2.5cm from edge.
