Sometimes television provides more than the viewing it is intended for. It’s colour schemes for me! Let me inspire you!

-

so there is an English program that runs on air quite regularly called Midsomer Murders. Let me introduce you if you are not already a viewer! In that smallish fictional county, in a most beautiful part of England, more people are murdered than in any of the most dangerous cities in the world – research has suggested!

The series is long-running and continues, happily for me. I’m addicted! The whodunnit bit is intriguing certainly, but it’s the stately homes where the murderers and victims live that seals my deal: the colour schemes are fabulous! Not a room, large or small, has yet appeared that is white or beige, including the police station! There are the most magnificent mustards, yellows, deep greens, beautiful burnt oranges, crimsons and splendid blues everywhere. And that’s just a simple list.

Each program inspires me to want to paint and repaint my

white apartment – dare I say the people of Midsomer would be ashamed of me! But closer to home, if you are waiting for your own inspiration, our colour feature this issue (page 16), runs neckand-neck with everything I have seen on the show. And the good folk there would find inspiration aplenty for their own places.

As our coverline suggests, the ideas herein are stunning. It’s my vow to ‘colour wow my home in 2018’. In fact, there’s so much in this issue to wow your home you’ll be delighted.

Then, spin us upside down, head to the back, think holiday and win yourself a cruise!

Ah bon voyage then, good people, see you next month!

Prepare to thrill yourself thisspring with blooming bulbs popping up all over your garden. Don’t miss our offer page 42 and await the joy!
