LEADING THE WAY
In the market for new tyres? Support those brands (see Leading the way, right) that contribute financially to the national TSA Product Stewardship Scheme, which is focused on envirofriendly ways to dispose of Australia’s end-of-life tyres. This scheme aims to boost domestic and commercial recycling and fund creation of markets for tyre-derived products. Its advantages are many – with new industries and markets come new jobs, and perhaps the best benefit of all is the transformation of a harmful waste product into a useful commodity.
Teach the kids to recycle and grow their own herbs in a lined tyre planter. Take up the challenge and create a similar fun creature.
