AIR CANADA will launch a thrice-weekly B787-9 service between Vancouver and Delhi from October 20, which will complement its existing flights linking Toronto with Delhi. AMERICAN AIRLINES has applied to launch a daily service linking its base in Dallas/Fort Worth airport with Tokyo Haneda airport – the result of an agreement to open up daytime slots for flights between the US and the Japanese airport. EMIRATES has launched new scheduled A380 services to Taipei and Prague, becoming the only airline to operate an A380 to each of these cities. HONG KONG AIRLINES has begun a twice-weekly service between Hong Kong and Kuching, the only carrier to fly nonstop between the two destinatio­ns. JIN AIR has signed an agreement with the Jetstar Group that will see the two parties operate interline services from the third quarter of the year. KOREAN AIR has resumed its seasonal service between Seoul Incheon and St Petersburg. Operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, the service will last until October 27. QATAR AIRWAYS has launched daily A350 flights to Adelaide, its fourth Australian destinatio­n. The aircraft is configured with 36 fully flat business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, and 247 economy seats. SAUDI ARABIAN AIRLINES will launch a new low-cost carrier called Flyadeal in 2017. The new airline will be based in Jeddah and primarily serve high-density regional routes in the kingdom. V AIR has announced that it will operate a three-times-weekly service between Taipei Taoyuan and Okinawa from July 1.
