PRODUCTS FOR THE CARRY-ON

The grooming travel kits of the modern male jetsetter can be as extensive as those of the most stylish ladies, believes The Mira’s Gerhard Aicher. Produced by leading spa brand Aromatherapy Associates, The Refinery skincare collection available at Mira Spa combines highly concentrated essential oils with plant extracts. “The products are compact, light and easy to travel with,” he says.

Gentlemen’s Tonic offers its own range of natural products made in the UK based on the essential oils of babassu and bergamot that contain no parabens or chemicals and leave no residue, which is particularly good for those with oily skin. “We would recommend a three-step routine of foaming cleanser, facial scrub and daily moisturiser to ensure a consistent skincare regime while away,” says director Chris Bonnefoy.

The Strand’s Tamara Hockly recommends the Skeyndor range for men, which includes a hydrating thermal water for flights. “We make sure where possible our ranges are supported with travel sizes so it’s easier for clients to use what they have come to love.” Hockly also recommends US brand Babor, which has a range of ampoules in oil form. “They are individually packaged for use each day and can replace a pot of moisturiser.”

Due to lack of sleep, poor diet and time zone changes, the scalp can become dry, itchy and flaky. To combat this, Mandarin Oriental’s Karen Aleksich says travelling businessmen love Philip Kingsley’s Hair Toner, which relieves the itchiness and irritation associated with a flaky scalp.
