COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL HONG KONG has rebranded as the Dorsett Wanchai Hong Kong following a renovation of all its 454 rooms and the addition of new themed rooms, including a Grand Deluxe Course View room with views of the Happy Valley Racecourse, and an amusement park-themed Ocean Park Family Suite. DOSSEN HOTEL GROUP has signed a number of new project agreements with investors from Seoul, Malacca, Bandung and Jakarta. The news follows an announcement in February 2016 that the Chinese hotel group had signed an agreement with Marriott to manage the American hotel company’s Fairfield by Marriot brand in China. DUSIT INTERNATIONAL has opened the Dusit Princess Resort Panzhihua, Sichuan and DusitD2 Kenz Dubai, with a further 20 resorts in China and 42 worldwide in the pipeline. HYATT REGENCY has returned to Sydney with the opening of the new Hyatt Regency Sydney, formerly the Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour. The property underwent a redevelopment, including the addition of a new 22-storey tower, which added 222 guestrooms to the property, making it the largest upscale full-service hotel in Australia. IHG is set to open its first Intercontinental-brand hotel in Laos in 2021 as part of the new mixed-use World Trade Centre development in Vientiane. JUMEIRAH, the Dubai-based luxury hotel group, is set to increase its footprint in Asia with plans to launch at least one hotel per annum for the next five years, targeting Bali, Kuala Lumpur and destinations across China. MARRIOTT is to add four new Asian properties to its Autograph Collection brand early this year, comprising the Shanhaitian Resort Sanya, the Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Hotel Stripes (also in Kuala Lumpur) and the Ryse hotel in Seoul. ONYX HOSPITALITY GROUP is set to open a slew of new properties across Asia-Pacific over the next four years as part of an expansion that will see the Thailand-based hospitality group make brand debuts in China, Laos, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. PARK HYATT will begin accepting guests at its new Park Hyatt Bangkok property in March this year. Located in the Central Embassy mixed-use development, the hotel was originally scheduled for a 2014 opening. PULLMAN HOTELS AND RESORTS has revealed its newly refurbished Pullman Shanghai Jing An hotel, formerly the Grand Mercure Shanghai Central, offering 288 rooms and suites and a bespoke series of artworks created by Chinese artist Qin Ming as part of its Pullman Artist Playground programme. RADISSON BLU has opened a new 118-room property in Thailand’s Hua Hin, approximately two hours from Bangkok and the summer retreat of choice for the country’s royalty. ROSEWOOD HOTELS AND RESORTS is set to open a new 398-room property in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui district adjacent to Victoria Harbour. The Rosewood Hong Kong will feature a total of eight dining options, along with 199 luxury accommodations for extended stays on the top 19 floors of the new development. SHANGRI-LA HOTELS AND RESORTS will open the new-build, 546-room Kerry Hotel in Hung Hom Bay on the Hong Kong harbourfront on April 1, 2017. Styled as an “urban resort”, it will cater to both business and leisure guests.
