OLDTIMER GRAND PRIX

The mighty Nürburgring plays host to a fine array of historic Ford race cars.

With the 44th edition the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring having recently taken place, this event has a very long tradition. This year there were over 500 old and youngtimers on the starting grid, taking part in 20 races featuring different categories including historic sports and GT cars.

A lot of cars were powered by Ford engines from BDA to big V8s, and in the Touring Car categories from the 1960s through the 1990s you could find Cortinas, Escorts, Capris, Mustangs, GT40s and a few Sierras, too. It’s particularly interesting to watch the Capris chasing the Porsches in the over 3-litre class.

A great event in sunny weather, with action for all classic motorsport fans, confirmed by over 50,000 people attending — this year’s event takes place on August 11-13. Enjoy the photos.
