Although the Puma Rac­ing was closely re­lated to Pu­mas which came from Cologne, the 500-off 153 bhp Rac­ing ver­sion was as­sem­bled for Ford by Tick­ford in 2000. Tick­ford chose an in­dus­trial unit in Daven­try — close to, but not within, the Spare Parts cen­tre. Tick­ford was the de­scen­dant of the com­pany which had al­ready built Sierra RS500s and re­fur­bished most RS200s. Man­u­fac­ture be­gan with the ar­rival of stan­dard cars from Cologne, fol­lowed by a com­pre­hen­sive con­ver­sion. The Daven­try site was dis­posed of when this short con­tract was com­pleted.
