Turin (Italy)
Between 2002 and 2005 Ford produced more than 37,000 of the smart and trendy StreetKa convertibles, which used the front-wheel-drive Ka platform, a 1.6-litre engine, but with a bodyshell constructed by Pininfarina of Italy, who also looked after manufacture. The basic front-end style was that of the Ka hatchback, but the balance was pure Pininfarina. The famous Italian concern was ideally placed to produce this model (and other cars for other clients), which had to be dropped when that generation of Ka ended in 2005.
