THE SLEEPER ISSUE: USING STOCK GAUGES
The only aspect the auto electrician didn’t attend to was making the original gauges work once connected to the CA18ET. “He said I’d have fun, but I managed to sort it using an oil pressure switch from a Nissan Laurel, a non-standard temperature gauge in the radiator hose and the hardest of the lot was matching the Anglia fuel gauge to the Nissan engine.” By chance Simon came across a great piece of kit used in kit car builds which matches gauges and this worked a treat — the Gauge Wizard from Spiyda Design. “I could have opted for accessory dials which would have been easier,” Simon adds, “but looking standard was the key.”
