The only as­pect the auto elec­tri­cian didn’t at­tend to was mak­ing the orig­i­nal gauges work once con­nected to the CA18ET. “He said I’d have fun, but I man­aged to sort it us­ing an oil pres­sure switch from a Nis­san Lau­rel, a non-stan­dard tem­per­a­ture gauge in the ra­di­a­tor hose and the hard­est of the lot was match­ing the Anglia fuel gauge to the Nis­san en­gine.” By chance Si­mon came across a great piece of kit used in kit car builds which matches gauges and this worked a treat — the Gauge Wizard from Spiyda De­sign. “I could have opted for ac­ces­sory di­als which would have been eas­ier,” Si­mon adds, “but look­ing stan­dard was the key.”
