HISTORY IS CALLING

Ian has a couple of questions about his Mk1 van that he’s hoping this feature may answer via the knowledgeable Classic Ford readership.The first is to try and discover the history.All he knows so far was that its one commercial owner was a company called LA Cooper Heating Engineers.Where were they based (presumably somewhere near Uckfield), when did Coopers have the van until and where did it go after that? It’s always nice to get some idea of the life a rare classic has had and hopefully someone will know. The other question is prompted by Rachel: If this van has no headlining, dash top (below), and rubber flooring but is badged as Deluxe, what the hell didn’t a base model come with? Answers on a postcard please!
