Burton Power now supplies a complete Type-9 five-speed gearbox with a 2.98:1 ratio, long first gear. The complete gearboxes have been reconditioned to OE standards using the GBT9200 long first gear conversion kit. This partial gear kit is designed to lower the ratio of first gear from a short 3.65:1 to a much more usable 2.98:1. The upgrade includes a brand-new mainshaft first gear and a used layshaft cluster that has been modified to work with the new first gear. The remaining gears are as original.
