COILED AND READY

Q: Can you convert an original MGF to the steel coil springs used in the later TF version of the car? I like the ride of the Hydragas but it doesn’t offer much scope for uprating and tweaking.

A: No. The TF’s bodyshell was substantially re-engineered for the change to steel coil spring suspension so the MGF can’t be changed over to coils. You can however fit adjustable uprated dampers to the Hydragas-sprung MGF and Gaz has recently released a kit for the car.
