STARTING PROBLEM

1 When our Triumph wouldn’t start one freezing cold morning, the fault was quickly tracked down to a loose wire on the coil. Re- establishi­ng the connection solved the problem almost as fast as it was found. 2 The dipstick had obviously dislocated the wire as it was being threaded down past the coil and distributo­r. There’s a lot of wires around this area, so lesson learnt was to always check the oil level in daylight rather than at night with a torch!
