1 When our Tri­umph wouldn’t start one freez­ing cold morn­ing, the fault was quickly tracked down to a loose wire on the coil. Re- es­tab­lish­ing the con­nec­tion solved the prob­lem al­most as fast as it was found. 2 The dip­stick had ob­vi­ously dis­lo­cated the wire as it was be­ing threaded down past the coil and dis­trib­u­tor. There’s a lot of wires around this area, so les­son learnt was to al­ways check the oil level in day­light rather than at night with a torch!
