DOLOMITE ENGINE SWAP

How practical would it be to replace the knackered 1850 engine in my 1977 Dolomite auto with the engine and five speed box from a 1984 Rover 2000? It looks like it will fit but has it been done?

BL did this conversion on the TR7, and the O-Series is an altogether better engine, superbly reliable and tough. You will need to make the engine mounts, possibly tilt the engine over, have a prop made and an exhaust. It’s a lot of work!
