Just a quick one: how do you tell a Speke­built TR7 from a later Can­ley built ex­am­ple? Do the orig­i­nals have the fa­mous Tar­tan seat trim. And just how bad were the Speke cars?


Not that easy! Pro­duc­tion moved from Speke to Can­ley in 1978 and the car gained tar­tan trim in Spring 1977. Most (but not early) Can­ley built cars have the five speed gear­box, the dou­ble bump bon­net and the TR7 bon­net mo­tif re­placed by the Tri­umph lau­rel de­cal.
