Native Instruments Komplete 11
The German music software giants release their latest all-in bundle, with 13 new additions
The 11th version of Native Instruments’ astoundingly good-value instruments and effects bundle comes in the usual ‘standard’ and Ultimate editions, as well as the new, even cheaper Select edition.
The flagship Komplete 11 Ultimate features all of NI’s current instruments and effects, including the recently released Reaktor 6, Flesh and Replika XT, as well as the all-new Form (see the story below) and Symphony Essentials. This last is a series of five multisampled orchestral instruments – Solo and Ensemble Brass, Solo and Ensemble Woodwind, and Strings – that “deliver the same professional recordings and signature interface as the acclaimed Symphony Series, with a streamlined set of articulations”. Komplete 11 Ultimate includes 87 plugins in total, weighs in at over 500GB and costs £959, with the upgrade from earlier versions costing £319. It comes on a USB hard drive.
The standard Komplete 11 reduces the plugin count to 45, with most of the losses coming from the sampled instruments and effects categories. It adds to v10’s line-up with Reaktor 6, Form, Replika, Una Corda, India, Kinetic Metal and Strummed Acoustic. It also arrives on a hard disk (of which it occupies around 155GB), and costs £479, with the upgrade priced £159.
Finally, the new Komplete 11 Select is aimed at less experienced producers – described by NI as a “gateway to the professional music production world of Komplete” – and comprises Massive, Reaktor Prism, Drumlab, Monark, Replika, Scarbee Mk 1, Solid Bus Comp, The Gentleman, Vintage Organs, Retro Machines Mk2 and West Africa. At £159, it represents a saving of 80% over the cost of the whole lot bought individually, and is delivered on a USB flash drive (25GB).
Also included with all versions of Komplete 11 is NI’s new Native Access application – “your one-stop hub for easy product installation, registration, and updates.” Connected to your NI user account, it’s essentially a fully redesigned replacement for the aged Service Center.
