5. Patching up a classic Korg M1 sound

1 Korg’s M1 may be a mainstay of the Holiday Inn lounge, but that doesn’t mean it’s incapable of producing stunning sounds. This lean machine offers all of the usual subtractive synthesis functions, but wraps them around some evocative sampled waveforms. The first `Combi’ is a stacked patch called Film Score. 2 Click Prog to go into the single patch mode. Now we hear the famous M1 Universe patch. If you look at the parameters on the Easy editor, you’ll see it’s made up of two oscillators, each playing a different `Multisound’. Click Browser for Multisound 2 and select the WindBells Multisound.
