More than modules

-

As well as the new modules, RX 6 benefits from a handful of UI and workflow-related improvements, the most immediately obvious being that every within-module tab is now a module in its own right – Channel Ops’ Mixing, Phase, Azimuth and Extract Center, for example. This, of course, means the Module menu is now considerably longer than before, so iZotope have categorised it and added a useful menu of category filters.

Then there’s the new Composite View (Standard, Advanced), which works like a real-time batch processor, layering multiple files in a single display for mixed auditioning (albeit without mix level control) and processing as a group. You’d think this would be ideal for drying out drum kits with the De-bleed module, but iZotope don’t recommend it, since the bleed won’t be identical from channel to channel. Back on the upside, though, when a Composite is collapsed back out to its individual files, the composite treatments applied are worked into each file’s independent undo/redo history, so you can turn the clock back on one without affecting the others.

Finally, RX can now export MP3s individually and in batches. Nice.
