Explore the new features in PreSonus’ updated DAW
The wait is over for Studio One users, who can now get their hands on the fourth version of PreSonus’ comprehensive music production system. For the uninitiated, Studio One is a serious challenger to the far more established DAWs, built from the ground up to go head-to-head against those in the old guard.
While Studio One 3 saw new additions aimed at mixing and browsing, version 4 has it where it counts in other areas, offering features of a more creative than technical bent.
First up, the new Chord Track helps Studio One users detect and manipulate the chords used in a DAW project. It works on individually specified tracks, and both MIDI and audio clips are fair game. We’ll show you how to use this awesome compositional tool in our tutorial and its accompanying video.
Following that, we’ll show you two new ways to program notes in Studio One 4. These may seem like obvious additions – isn’t that what making music is all about? – but you’ll soon find yourself wondering really liking them.
