WEAR DRUM

It turns out that the Google Wear smartwatch you have on your wrist has a secret: a drum machine that can be accessed from the Flashlight app with a double-press and hold. It’s a pretty simple affair, but as tech Easter Eggs go, also pretty impressive.

LES PAUL NON-STANDARD

How do you improve on Gibson’s classic Les Paul guitar? Stick a MIDI keyboard inside it, that’s how! OK, it might not be to everyone’s taste, but master modder Look Mum No Computer’s hybrid instrument is certainly versatile: check it out at bit.ly/39lydTf Critics may have wondered if she was a little too young to pull off a successful Bond theme, but we reckon Billie Eilish’s moody No Time To Die hits the mark. And it’s certainly a significant improvement on Sam Smith’s rather tepid effort last time out.

AUDIO DRIVER

We all like making music on the go, but a US man took things a step too far recently when he decided to set up a studio in his lorry cab and use it while driving. Narcotics were found onboard, too, suggesting that the man was having quite the party.

ANDREW WEATHERALL RIP

Tributes poured in for the legendary DJ, producer and remixer following his sudden death in February. A giant of the 90s electronic scene, and a key player behind Primal Scream’s seminal Screamadelica, he was a relentless innovator.
