1. Getting started

-

1

ToneSpot comes in VST, VST3, AU and AAX formats and supports MacOS 10.9 and Windows 7 or higher. Use this link to grab your copy: https://shop.audified. com/products/tonespot-computermusic. And then proceed to apply the special discount code which will make the purchase completely free.

2

With your order complete, Audified will then email you a serial number and download links to access the plugin installers. Enter your details, including the enclosed serial number, and download the correct installer for your platform. Now run the installer. 3

The installer includes a further security check, so enter your name and serial number once again. Then decide which plugin formats you’d like to install. With the install application finished, the software may then require you to reboot your computer in order to complete the process.

4

To help get you started, we’ve prepared some tutorial files and these can be accessed from filesilo.co.uk/ computermusic. They include WAV files for drums, bass, guitar and piano and have been selected to use with the preset patches included with ToneSpot CM. All files start from zero and are at 160bpm. Load them up in a fresh DAW session.

5

Now load up an instance of ToneSpot CM so we can run through its main features. ToneSpot CM is a preset plugin that uses combinations of processors such as EQ, compression and delay. However, aside from delay and modulation timing, the actual parameters are hidden. Use the drop down menu in the middle to check out the bank of more than 30 categorised presets.

6

ToneSpot CM includes a number of handy setup features that will help you make the most of its processing. First up, Calibration, which you’ll find by clicking on the spanner icon. This adjusts the internal operating level of the plugin and you can see as we adjust it that the amount of gain reduction is changing.

7

Next up, AGC. ToneSpot CM includes separate automatic gain control for both input and output. It’s worth emphasising that this continuously adjusts the gain. So, the output option might be useful as gain make up after compression, while the input option is useful to achieve consistent processing. Nevertheless, for more control we suggest using the manual Input and Output levels.

8

Further features include window resizing, input channel selection including left, right, and stereo options, three metering modes and tempo sync’d delay and modulation settings. There’s also a rather handy dry mix control that’s ideal for blending the effected signal to personal taste.
