Not so much a power tip here but to make sure you know of and use the presets that come with Sampler. It comes with many preset sounds in a dozen categories including Acoustic Pianos and Pop Strings and there are some great ones to audition, if only to see how samples can be mapped and to learn about best practice when using Sampler.
