RENEE GARNHAM

-

CREATIVE MANAGER AT JARDAN, 45

Based on the Mornington Peninsula, Renee doesn’t shy away from prints or colour. What are some of your wardrobe staples? For work, pants and shirts layered with knits and a statement jacket or coat. I definitely dress smarter for work as I always expect my retail staff to look well-presented. At home, I keep it simple in jeans and T-shirts. What are your go-to brands and why do you love them? Bassike — they are a no-brainer for me. I love their casual tailoring, it’s always so spot on. Zimmermann’s prints and flowy dresses are so romantic. Then I go to Jac + Jack for cashmere jumpers and Country Road for my silk and cotton shirts. Are you a fan of patterns and colour? Yes, I like mixing everything. Gorman, Zara and Cos do bold colours and patterns so well. I just bought a red summer coat from Zara and I wear it either with denim jeans and a cotton patterned shirt or over some pale blue pants teamed with a nude silk cami. What’s your style advice for busy mums? I get on Pinterest and look at the latest street styles from Europe. Someone like Bat Gio (Vogue Japan fashion editor, Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert) gives me so many ideas of how to get the most out of my wardrobe in ways that I never would have thought to mix. What are your favourite accessories? Statement earrings, bags and sunglasses. Favourite shoes for work and play? My block colour Nikes from Incu take me everywhere. What about skincare, cosmetics and perfume — which brands do you use? I am quite strict with my skin regimen... I use Cosmedix, then a 50+ SPF every day in summer. For cosmetics, I like Mecca and we are stocking L’artisan Parfumeur fragrances at Jardan now, which are my new favourite. What’s on your summer wardrobe wishlist this year? Bassike’s high-rise tailored pants in powder blue, a Zimmermann ‘Painted Heart’ dress and Mara Hoffman bathers. Any artworks you’re coveting? Or books you’re reading? I’m reading Rise Sister Rise by Rebecca Campbell. Art-wise, I’m a big fan of artist Leah Fraser. What’s your fashion advice to live by? Fashion is such an expression of my creativity... it really excites me so I like to push the boundaries and have no rules. Be confident, be brave. Visit jardan.com.au, or follow @jardanfurniture
