FAMILY AFFAIR

Thank you for the last year of Country Style. I was drawn to the magazine for its variety of inspirational stories, wonderful Australian characters and exquisite photography. I’m happy to say I’ve now added a few family members to the fold, too. They agree it’s an informative and unpretentious celebration of this great southern land. Wishing you all the best for a wonderful year. Vicki Sinclair, Bracken Ridge, QUEENSLAND

THE WHOLE PACKAGE

What a great way to start the year! I just received my first issue of a Country Style subscription and I’m in love. In your January issue, I was amazed by the bravery of sailor Sarah Andrews (and tempted to buy a cottage in Tassie), and inspired by Keith Browne, of South Coast Sea Urchins, who thinks outside the box to do things that benefit our beautiful country. A true mix of beauty and brains is hard to find, but you guys nailed it. The only trouble is having to wait for the next issue! Vicky Lorrimer, Manly West, QUEENSLAND

INSPIRATION POINT

I always experience a moment of bliss when I find Country Style waiting in our letterbox. A yearly subscription to the magazine and its diary has become my favourite Christmas present. Your gardens, recipes and country living stories are always interesting and beautifully photographed. The highlight is following the work of creative artists, photographers, crafters, writers and others who draw their inspiration from the beauty of the natural world. As a writer and photographer, my work has been enriched by the ideas and dedication these artistic people share with us. Mary Mageau, Samford Village, QUEENSLAND

WINNER EARLY STARTER

My mum has been a Country Style subscriber for years and, as a keen baker and the best interior-design novice in my household, I jumped on the wagon myself at age 15. Two years later, I still have the bug and enjoy flipping through the magazines to catch a glimpse of beautiful country and coastal lifestyles. While many of my friends dream of trips to Europe or the US, I imagine travelling around Australia and discovering some of the hidden gems Country Style has revealed. I’m often caught poring over a stunning bathroom, dining room or outdoor living space, or dog-earing recipes to try. The banana bread in the January issue was scrumptious and my family declared their love for it, almost devouring the loaf in one sitting. I’m always pleased when Mum’s subscription is renewed for Mothers’ Day each year and am quick to remind others of this essential gift if it is in danger of being overlooked. Thanks for producing one of the very few magazines mother and daughter can both read and enjoy!
