NEW NORFOLK DELIGHT

What a pleasure it was to read On the Move: New Norfolk. This village was a highlight of our recent Tassie holiday. The Drill Hall Emporium was the best antique shopping experience I’ve had. Tammy and Donna Baird’s approach makes hunting for treasures an easy and rich experience. With the silver and copper polished to a sparkle and other collectables gathered into logical groupings, one is compelled to stay, browse, buy and revisit this delightful place in a delightful town. Thanks for reigniting memories of Tasmania. Michele Considine, LAIDLEY HEIGHTS, QUEENSLAND

INSEPARABLE

Country Style has been a regular in my home since 2000. About this time my family opened a restaurant in Tasmania and I placed past Country Style issues with a sprig of rosemary on each table. One man pleaded with me to part with some copies that he was missing in his collection. I did feel a little sad for him as he left. Some 10 years later I moved to America, where I reconnected with Country Style, not just because I was homesick but to show my new friends your magazine was a honest reflection of my culture. I’ve been back two years now and my relationship with Country Style remains strong. Nalda Kingston, BARGARA, QUEENSLAND

BACK TO MY ROOTS

While everyone around me tries to define the term ‘success’ as having the biggest house and the most possessions, here I am, almost 30, and going back to beautiful country simplicity. I’m a new reader of Country Style and wish I’d found it sooner. Living in the Brisbane suburbs, your magazine takes me back to my childhood. We lived in a cottage in a country town, where I’d play with my sister in the lavender garden. Our father was a photographer and mum baked sweets to sell to local businesses — this is the kind of life I want for my family. Country Style inspires me to continue this in my household. From home styling, to delectable food and even towns to holiday at, Country Style has a permanent home on our coffee table. Jamie Towers, SHAILER PARK, QUEENSLAND

WINNER A DREAM COME TRUE

My fiancé and I have dreamed of moving to the country for some time now. On one of our first dates he drove me up to Daylesford in Victoria stopping along the way in the beautiful rural town of Woodend. I fell in love with the place. Ever since, I have bought Country Style, dreaming of the day we’d call this spot home. Fast-forward 18 months and we have a baby daughter and secured a rental property just 100 metres from the spot we visited that day. Although we are quite some time from buying a property, we are thrilled to raise our daughter among the trees. Thanks for providing not only inspiration every month but keeping the dream alive amid our busy Melbourne lives. Sarah Prout, AVONDALE HEIGHTS, VICTORIA
