CHAMPAGNE, the sparkling wine from the Champagne region in France, is often described as the most glamorous wine in the world, and Australia’s love affair with it continues to grow we are ranked as the sixth-largest export market. This year Country Style presents a series of special events with the Champagne Bureau Australia to shine the spotlight on a diverse selection of Champagne wines, alongside menus created by two of our great regional chefs. The Champagne season in Australia starts with our dinner at The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa, on Internatio­nal Champagne Day on October 19. Chef Matt Kemp is sourcing the best local produce to complement a carefully selected range of Champagne wines. The season continues in Trentham, Victoria, with a French farmhouse-inspired dinner at Annie Smithers’ Du Fermier on October 27. Places are limited, so book now.
