SMALL BUSINESS OWNER AND MOTHER OF THREE, 36

How would you describe your style? I would just call it relaxed and casual.

Are you interested in fashion? I’ve never had a huge hunger for high-end brands and seasonal trends. I used to love shopping at charity stores when I lived overseas and in Melbourne and Sydney, picking anything quirky. With little people stealing most of my time, my interest in fashion is nearly non-existent! However, I still enjoy dressing up for a girls’ night out or when the city calls.

Who are your style influences? Probably my friends, including those who have their own fashion start-ups. I look at what they are wearing to events on social media.

What’s the best style advice you’ve ever received?

I have learnt that it is worth spending a little more on something sensational or even a basic necessity that you will wear over and over again, rather than acquiring multiple cheap items you will only wear once.

What are your wardrobe essentials? Winter: a rabbit fur vest, a woollen jumper, black yoga pants, even though I don’t do yoga — I wear them instead of jeans — and black knee-high boots. Summer: a brightly coloured maxi dress and Birkenstocks.

What are your favourite clothing labels? The labels that seem to multiply in my wardrobe are Lululemon yoga pants and Lady Kate jumpers — one of my good friend’s start-ups — I acquire a new one each year!

Where do you shop for clothing and accessories? Recently I have been all about #buyfromthebush. My favourites include Hello Hattie and Greenwood Designs. I like to do anything I can to support regional businesses such as my own, plus they all sell sensational things.

Where do you shop locally? There is so much talent within our little community, including Yonder Traders, Confide in Hide, and Petals and Seeds. All sell gorgeous gifts, accessories and homewares.

Do you have a favourite accessory? My fur vests. I sell these and always find an excuse to keep one for myself!

What are your beauty essentials? I always have a good BB cream and rosehip oil on hand.

What are you reading and listening to? Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult and Skye Manson’s podcast, Company.

What do you never leave home without? My Corkcicle insulated drink bottles and my Love Friday insulated clutch — both necessary for our long hot summers.

What do you love about living in the country?

The space, the beauty at sunset, the sense of community, and that my kids can grow up with all of these.
