Confidence, not trends is what true style is all about according to Edwina.

Where do you live? I am based in Brisbane but spend half of my time on the road or in the air travelling for weddings. I have a healthy mix of country and city living, which gives me balance in my life.

How would you describe your style? Fresh, bright and feminine with a touch of country. I love gingham, floral and ruffles! I don’t tend to follow trends. I prefer to dress for my body shape and age. I used to worry about being seen in an item more than once but now I embrace the fact that I can be comfortable to wear something multiple times because my values for slow fashion far outweigh my worry about people’s perceptions of my wearing an item twice.

Are you interested in fashion? I studied fashion design straight out of school. To me, fashion is what you wear to express your personality and your individuality. It’s always clear when you see a woman who has embraced her own style as her confidence shines through.

What’s the best style advice you’ve ever received? Class never goes out of style.

What are your wardrobe essentials? I can’t live without a pair of Ariat boots, a classic pair of nude patent heels and a denim jacket. I like the ability to dress an outfit down with a more casual shoe or jacket.

Where do you shop for clothes? I’ve become really conscious about where I shop and where my clothes are made. The impact of garment waste on the environment is huge. I’d rather invest in one quality, well-made piece that will last me for years rather than a ‘quick, on trend’ item. I source my clothes from luxury second-hand online stores, such as Vestiaire Collective, or rent them from Glam Corner.

Do you have a favourite accessory? A simple pair of pearl studs. I like to keep my accessories really simple and let the clothes speak for themselves.

What are your go-to beauty essentials? My favourite cleanser is Eve Lom and I follow that up with Drunk Elephant C-firma Day Serum and then Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil. I also love Kora Organics Turmeric Brightening and Exfoliating Mask and use that a couple of times a week. I like to keep my skincare really simple so I know I can be consistent. My number one tip is to use a muslin cloth to clean your skin instead of a face washer or wipes.

What are you reading? Notes to My Future Daughter by Catie Get. I read books on subjects I can learn from.

What do you love about travelling in rural Australia? I love the diversity in landscapes yet the similarity in the generosity of the people in the bush. I can travel anywhere and always feel at home. I’ve had the fortune to visit many wonderful places.
