Every Christmas I love to make my own Christmas tree decorations. I love to use metallic threads to add a sparkly festive touch. However, metallic threads can fray very easily. Therefore, every few stitches, I tend to just let the needle hang and unwind itself so that it reduces the tangling. Also, when I use metallics for backstitches I always use at least two strands as they can break too easily with one strand.
