WORKING ON A DARKER FABRIC:

By using a black aida background some of the details are effectively created using negative shapes – here the palm trees and parts of the landscape have been formed in this way.

METALLIC THREADS FOR SPARKLE:

The bright star in the East hovering over Bethlehem is brought to life with light gold DMC Light Effects metallic thread. You'll find it used for a few French knots too.

DENSE AREAS OF BRIGHT STITCHING:

The dark fabric allows areas of colour and metallics to form the vibrant buildings. Use the park and stitch method of threading several needles to save time here.
