Tell us a bit about Hannah Hand Makes!
I design fun and colourful cross stitch patterns and turn them into kits. I try to keep my designs easy so anyone can do them regardless of their experience or how hectic their life is.
What inspires you design-wise about Christmas?
I love all the colours; every Christmas has such different themes that you can really play with different colour palettes. I also get a lot of inspiration from clothes, particularly fabulous Christmas jumper patterns!
Do you have any new designs planned for this year?
I’m planning a Baby’s First Christmas pattern, a Rudolph pattern and a Christmas jumper pattern. I’m also running a Christmas stitch-along on my Facebook group with another new Deck the Halls pattern. It starts on 1 October and we will all hopefully be finished mid-November, ready to hang up our finished hoops in time for Christmas!
What’s your favourite part of the festive period?
It’s so hard to just choose one, this is my favourite time of year. But it is probably decorating the tree and house. I even love untangling the fairy lights!
What stitchy presents are you hoping to make – and do you have your eye on anything for yourself?
I’m going to be adding some stitchy personalised designs onto clothes and bags. And I would love a crafty magazine subscription as a gift.
Do you have a favourite tree decoration – and why?
I don’t have one favourite but every year we buy our kids a new handmade decoration and I love how they add something special and personal to the tree.
