MAKE AN… ICE CREAM BRACELET

No hemming required to make this pretty bracelet!

-

For the bracelet and keyring, arrange the ice creams and ice cream sundaes across your aida band, adding spaces between each to fill the space

Step1 STITCH

the design, then measure the aida band around your wrist and pin where the ends meet. Put another pin 1cm away from the first, and a third pin 1cm away from the second. Tack these three lines onto your band then remove the pins. Do this at either end of the band.

Step 2 CUT

two lengths of thin ribbon. Place at either end, so that the cut ribbon ends face away from the stitching. The ribbon end should be over the third tacking line. Repeat at the other end. You could use cord, but make sure that it is caught in the stitching or it will pull out.

Step3 FOLD

the aida band over so the ribbon is exactly in the centre. Put a pin on the fold, from the top of the third tacking line, to the bottom of the first. Tack the line in place and remove pin. Stitch from the third tacking line, stitching through the ribbon end at the starting point only. Continue to stitch along the tacking line. Finish both ends securely.

Step 4 SNIP

away the excess aida band, just outside of the line of stitching – this will create a point. Use Fray Check or fabric glue on the cut fabric edge to neaten. Pull the ribbon end back through to the right side, and the aida will follow, creating a neat point at end end of the bracelet. Repeat at the other end to complete your bracelet.
