Cross Stitcher

OVER TO YOU…

-

We asked our fans on Facebook, “Have you ever got friends or family hooked on stitching too?”

CAROL ANNE VD WALT

I am teaching my granddaughters to stitch. My eldest granddaughter will be 16 in May and she has completed a number of smaller projects and one biggish one. Love passing on this skill and love for cross stitch but also other embroidery and sewing, knitting and crocheting.

LIZ DRAPER I

got my mother hooked when I went home for a visit and took mine with me. She had Multiple Sclerosis and was having trouble holding her knitting needles for long periods of time, so the change to one needle and a frame was much easier for her.

KERRY PICKERING

I won tickets to the Creative Craft Show at the NEC and took my friend who is a bit of an all-round crafter. She saw two blackwork kits and has started one of them. As we took our daughters (aged nine) they also got Mouseloft kits to try. My daughter has been stitching since she was seven.

ELENA EGOROVA

My older daughter started stitching, looking how I do it. We started with me doing half the stitches and her doing the rest. But she figured pretty fast how to follow the pattern and started to stitch in her own. Now she’s stitching with beads, she likes it better.

EMMA MANWARING

All my daughters can stitch and two of them have got projects they are working on now. Not only that, but my neighbour’s nine-yearold was interested in what I was doing so I am currently guiding him through his first project. Several times I have given kids a piece of spare fabric and got them practising X’s before starting them off and sending them home with small kits. ‘Like’ our page on Facebook; facebook.com/CrossStitcherMag and join the conversation!
